The role & what you’ll be doing
Sirius Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a steel fabrication business in Pontefract, who are looking to strengthen their shopfloor team with a CNC Laser Operator.
Key responsibilities include:
Running the CNC laser machine as efficiently as possible, aiming for factory speeds without compromising quality
Minimising machine stoppages and downtime
Carrying out basic quality checks by measuring parts against customer drawings
Accurately recording quantities produced on job sheets
Moving raw materials to and from designated storage areas, maintaining identification of offcuts
Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy work area
Highlighting any health & safety concerns to the Works Manager

Goods In / Goods Out Storesperson
Pontefract
Pay: Up to £14 per hour

Sirius Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Goods In / Goods Out Storesperson to support their busy manufacturing and warehouse operations. You will be working in a fast-paced fabrication business where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating forklift trucks (FLT)
Unloading delivery vehicles and following goods-in procedures
Collating customer orders and loading vehicles for delivery
Assisting in other areas when required (delivery driving, machine operator labouring)
General stock checks and inventory support
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the yard
Preparing the premises for the following day’s work
Reporting any required FLT maintenance or repairs
Working closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth daily operations
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.
You’ll need:
A full UK driving licence (essential)
Forklift truck experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment (beneficial)
Good physical fitness for manual handling tasks
The ability to work independently and as part of a team

What You’ll Be Doing
Programming and setting CNC machines, with or without CAD models
Working primarily on 3-axis and 4-axis machines (XY2 and Leadwells)
Using Siemens controls (essential)
Fusion 360 experience desirable (but not essential)
Taking full ownership of jobs from programming through to completion
Carrying out your own quality checks
Supporting breakdowns and urgent turnaround work
Producing high-precision components for food & beverage, energy, automotive, and aerospace sectors
Contributing ideas for continuous improvement in a fast-moving shop
