Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced  Fixed Head Lathe Setter Operator to join their team on a late shift. This is a permanent role that offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery and be part of a thriving engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key Highlights:

  • Operate and maintain a range of fixed head lathes, including Puma, Myano and Mitsubishi and other industry-leading machines with Fanuc controls. 
  • Collaborate with a talented team to ensure the efficient and reliable production of high-quality precision engineered components.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of their manufacturing processes and take pride in your role within the company.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficient in setting up and operating fixed head lathes, with a strong understanding of Fanuc, and other relevant control systems.
  • Experienced in performing tool changes, offsets, and other routine maintenance tasks to keep the machines running smoothly.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving minor issues that may arise during production, demonstrating a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training or certification in machining, with a focus on fixed head lathe operations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality, ensuring the production of high-precision components.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Press Brake Team Leader, you will lead by example — combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities.

Your role will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the Press Brake department
  • Setting and operating CNC press brake machines
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately
  • Ensuring production targets and quality standards are met
  • Allocating workloads and supporting team members
  • Troubleshooting technical and production issues
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes
  • Supporting daily production meetings and reporting progress
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping

This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others while staying technically involved.
