The Role

As a Quality Engineer , you'll play an integral role in the quality function, ensuring all fabricated components and assemblies meet exacting standards for a diverse client base. You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing SOPs and WIs to standardise manufacturing processes.
• Ensuring employees are competently following correct procedures.
• Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.
• Working closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintaining and improving the QMS including leading ISO9001 audits.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, sheet metal fabrication environment—perfect for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor just as much as in the office.

What We’re Looking For

Someone who can demonstrate practical experience of improving manufacturing processes and resolving quality issues.  You must have experience gained in either sheet metal fabrication, subcontract manufacturing or a similar environment.  You’ll need:

• Minimum 3 years' proven experience in quality management within a metal manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 systems and audit processes.
• A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude to resolving issues.
• Internal or lead auditor training is desirable, but not essential.
• Confident using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Experience with quality tools, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, SPC and FMEA.
• The ability to build trust across departments and champion quality at every stage.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Assembler to join their production floor and helping bring their fabricated parts together into finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit, align and assemble fabricated sheet metal parts to construct multipart sub-assemblies and final finished products
• Accurately install mechanical fasteners, including inserting and setting rivets, bolts, washers and other ancillaries.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and assembly drawings
• Report any Health & Safety concerns, missing materials
• Use a range of hand and power tools and equipment safely
• Ensure work meets quality and customer requirements, inspect parts before, during and after assembly

We are currently working with an established precision engineering company, based in Leicestershire.  Due to an increase in workload, they are now looking to recruit for a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their existing team in the Milling Dept.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Programmer/Setter/Operator will:

• Have a good understanding of 3 & 4 axis machinery
• Be aware of the safe use of overhead cranes..
• Have experience of machining a variety of materials, including Cast Iron, Aluminium & Stainless Steel.
• Be flexible to cover other shifts, and reliable, and be a good team player..
• Have experience of working to high tolerances
• Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Be able to carry out their own inspection.
• Have previous experience of programming online using Haidenhain control systems.

The role

We are working with an established engineering company, based in Worcester. Due to an increase in their workload, they are now looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join their tool room, manufacturing, assembling and maintaining complex tooling used in the production of aerospace and industrial gas turbine components.

This role would suit a skilled, practical toolmaker who can interpret detailed engineering drawings, work to tight tolerances and solve problems during tool assembly and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and technical specifications
• Produce and modify precision tooling components
• Carry out bench fitting, polishing, grinding, drilling and other tool making operations
• Check components and assemblies against drawings and tolerances
• Support tooling trials, commissioning and production prove-out
• Diagnose tooling failures and complete repairs and modifications
• Maintain existing tooling to ensure reliable production performance
• Record modifications and provide feedback for drawing and design updates
• Contribute to tool room standards and continuous improvement
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment

About you

You will have:

• Significant experience as a toolmaker, mould toolmaker or precision engineer
• A recognised engineering or tool making apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong bench-fitting skills
• The ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Experience manufacturing, assembling and repairing complex precision tooling
• A good understanding of machining, grinding, EDM and tool making processes
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• A practical and methodical approach to problem-solving
• High standards of accuracy, workmanship and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
